Hotel Granada, Jl Bung Karno. Set in spacious grounds with a swimming pool and offering reasonable rooms, all with air?con and hot water.

Puri Indah, JI Sriwijaya 132. A bit out of the way, but excellent value and very popular. There's a swimming pool and small restaurant, but no hot water; the most expensive rooms have air-con


Pusaka JI Hasanudin 23. Set back from the busy road with wellfurnished air-con rooms, a comfortable lounge and a restaurant; more expensive rooms have hot water.


Sahid Legi Mataram, JI Sriwijaya 81. Top quality elegant hotel with lovely gardens, comfortable rooms and an excellent pool.

Shanta Puri Jl Maktal 15. The most popular traveller's place in Cakranegara offering a wide range of rooms, the most expensive with air?con and hot water, and a good?value restaurant. The compound is a bit cramped, but upstairs rooms lead off a pleasant balcony.
